4. Row, row, row (or sail) a boat

Rent a sailboat or a rowboat and discover the beauty of Jamaica Pond. Part of Boston's Emerald Necklace park system, the pond is surrounded by a 1½-mile footpath.

The boathouse is open every day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Rowboats are available whenever the boathouse is open and are $10 per hour ($5 per hour if you have a valid fishing license). Sailboats are available from 3:30 to 6 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekends for $15 per hour.
