
Some of the most exciting fountains of Boston are the hidden ones that surprise pedestrians when they hear the rush of water in an unexpected place.
At left, one of two identical fountains shadowed by the 25-story office building at Five Hundred Boylston is just a few feet away from busy Boylston Street. The area gives workers a place to rest at tables and chairs that surround it.
