Although empty fountains can be fun, ones with water provide much better (and cooler) fun, especially when people are allowed to jump around inside them. One of Boston's newest modern fountains on the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway sprays water at intervals and in different sequences and gives kids a place to cool down in the summer.
