An unmistakable landmark along the Charles River, Harvards Weld Boathouse is steeped in history and rowing importance. Built in 1906 by George Walker Weld, rowing aficionado, and ancestor to former Massachusetts governor William Weld, the boathouse was pivotal in opening new doors to the sport for all Harvard students. Today it houses the Radcliffe womens team and Harvard's recreational sculling and intramural house crew programs.
