When Disney purchased the “Star Wars” franchise from Lucasfilm in a $4 billion deal, the immediate question was what sort of entertainment ventures, other than a set of new movies, might the acquisition spawn, including the possibility of a “Star Wars” theme park.
That could be a reality one day, as the Los Angeles Times recently reported that employees at Disneyland, in Anaheim, Calif., have been polling visitors about their interest in the popular space saga, including one question that asked, “How interested would you be in visiting a Star Wars themed land at Disneyland Resort?”
Still, with that being years away, there are plenty of ways to vacation with a “Star Wars” theme this year, which happens to be the 30th anniversary of the release of “Return of the Jedi.”
