Virgin Atlantic offers a lesson in American Thanksgiving
What better way to learn about Thanksgiving than from the Brits. Well, that's according to Virgin Atlantic, anyway. The always outrageous airline has teamed up with the envelope-pushing online greeting card company, someecards.com, to create a series of educational greeting cards, meant to explain American Thanksgiving to our friends across the pond.
The six, co-branded Thanksgiving Day e-cards feature American and British humorous misconceptions (well, some are misconceptions, and some we'll just pretend we don't agree with) that can be sent to friends and family on both sides of the Atlantic.
Here are a few of my personal favorites:
Ladies, feel free to explain this one to the men after a few drinks at the Thanksgiving Day dinner table.
What's the best way to avoid the awkward dinner conversation? A good debate over the Queen's English (will be much less painful than hours of discussion analyzing why you're still single or when you'll produce grandkids).
And thus, we give thanks for our family, wherever in the world they may be.
See the rest of the co-branded ecards here. Happy Thanksgiving!
