Chinese builders create 30-story hotel in 15 days [VIDEO]
Building a skyscraper generally takes years to complete, but a group of Chinese builders bucked the trend by constructing a 30-story hotel in just 15 days, the HuffingtonPost reports.
Constructed in Dongting Lake in Hunan province, the hotel is 170,000 square feet was put together using pre-made modules from a factory. The modules were then placed on steel structures at the construction site. The building is said to be able to withstand a 9.0-magnitude earthquake.
“It completely changes the way buildings are constructed and, I believe, is about to change the entire industry,” architect Lloyd Alter wrote on the blog Treehugger.
