New England ski resorts offering last-minute deals, discounts on travel
Boston finally got a taste of winter this past weekend, and New England ski areas are finally getting the temperatures they need to make snow and open new trails. Now that winter is finally here, local resorts and clubs are hosting some great ski getaways.
The Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism (MOTT) and Boston Ski & Sports Club are busy getting in last-minute ski deals for snowbirds wanting to take advantage of this later-than-usual winter weather. Whether you're looking for a day-of deals, week-long getaways or social events, here's a few ski and snow getaways to get you going:
Boston Ski & Sports Club is hosting a season of snow trips. One of the more cost-friendly options is the weekend day-trip ($77 for members, $82 for nonmembers), which includes transportation and lift tickets, and the Wednesday day trips ($59), which includes Apres Ski parties in Boston. Additionally, the BSSC is hosting some travel trips:

February 17-20, 2012: President's Weekend in Montreal includes three nights of accommodations at Le Nouvel, a private BSSC bus to Tremblant and Sutton ski areas, and discounted ski tickets.
February 24-26, 2012 and March 9-11, 2012: Stay local and head to Sugarloaf, Maine, where newbies can practice their skills with the "Learn To" program. Trip includes transportation and mountainside condo accommodations, breakfast, a two-day lift ticket, free daily lessons and discounts on the learn to ski program.
March 23-25, 2012: Ski like an Olympian at the home of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics. Take on Whiteface, home of the Olympic runs and the largest vertical drop in the East, and enjoy the Olympic Sports Complex. Trip includes accommodations at High Peaks Resort, luxury transportation, breakfast, two-day lift ticket to Whiteface and more.
April 4-8, 2012: Sunday River in Maine is calling all Parrot Heads. Special events include live Jimmy Buffet cover bands, pond-skimming, BBQs and special drinks, and amazing spring skiing. Trips include roundtrip luxury accommodation, two nights at the Grand Summit Resort Hotel, breakfast, two day lift ticket to Sunday River, free lessons, Parrot Head Festival and more.
Looking for love? BSSC is also hosting "ski dating" events at Mount Snow. The all-day events take place Feb. 12 and March 11 and includes a lift ticket to ski or board, an Apres ski party, games and ice breakers and roundtrip transportation.
