The production company that brought you the "Mission Impossible" series, "Shrek" trilogy and "Titanic" is getting into the hotel business.

Movie firm Paramount Pictures announced plans to launch a chain of luxury hotels with ‘elements of the California lifestyle’, Paramount Hotels & Resorts boss Thomas Van Vliet told Bloomberg.

Initial talks have up to 50 hotels located in Brazil, the UK, the Caribbean, Russia, Qatar, Oman, South Africa and Indonesia, reports Bloomberg.

This wouldn't be the big entertainment brand to enter the hospitality space. One of the most popular, Disney, launched its own hotels and resorts chain last year. The Aulani resort and spa - the first Disney-operated hotel that isn't accompanied by a theme park - opened in August on the island of Oahu.

What can you expect from these not-yet-named Paramount hotels? Reports say the in-room technology will be top-notch, with mini-theaters and a library of Paramount films in every property.

The rest of the details are pretty vague at this point, but I'll keep an eye out for more information.

Readers: Your thoughts? What do you want to see from a Paramount Pictures hotel?
