Rest and relaxation is in order for Dad. After all, manning the barbecue, organizing game days and planning weekend road trips is hard work. Plus, the man did keep that secret from Mom and didn't ask questions when you needed an extra $50 for that must-have-can't-live-without-latest-and-greatest-everyone-has-one item. So, why not treat Dad to a little fun for Father's Day.

Hotels and resorts around the U.S. are hosting some great weekend getaways to celebrate Dads on Sunday, June 17. From fly-fishing to zip-lining, I've rounded up some great getaways -- near and far -- that fit any father's personality. Whether your Dad likes to get out and explore, or just wants an hour alone with a good book, there's a weekend getaway that's perfect for him.

Natural Retreats.jpgFor the Active Dad:

Natural Retreats South Fork Lodge, Swan Valley, ID: Natural Retreats South Fork Lodge, on Snake River Idaho, is one of the best fly-fishing locations in the U.S., organized by Outfitters guides. The self-catered vacation rental property will host a Father’s Day brunch on Sunday, June 17, at the on-site restaurant, Riverside Bar & Grill, with unique BBQ dishes from local Idaho producers including, Smoked Brisket Hash and Smoked Bison Tenderloin.

Hotel Terra, Jackson Hole, WY: Treat Dad to a Jackson Hole getaway of golf and fly-fishing at Hotel Terra. First, enjoy a round of golf at Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis, the award-winning championship course, then plan a day of privately guided fly-fishing on a world-renowned river filled with rainbow, cutthroat and brown trout. The “Dad’s Day Off” package includes: three-night stay in Terra Guest room at the eco-friendly boutique hotel, 18 holes of golf for two (includes cart and driving range) and a full-day fly fishing trip for two from $529 per night.

Sorrel River Ranch, Moab, UT: Enjoy a mountain bike ride in the adventure capital of America. Sorrel River Ranch in Moab, Utah offers a bike station where guests can clean and fix their bikes and a personalized “Guest Experience Team” to help you pick your mountain biking trail. Fuel up after the ride at the Ranch’s River Grill on the Cowboy Ribeye Steak or relax with the new “Slick Rock Massage,” named after the world-renowned Slickrock biking trail. Rates start at $399 per night.

Delamar Greenwich Harbor Hotel, Greenwich, CT: Delamar Greenwich Harbor's “Weekend Golf Package" gives families overnight accommodation in a Deluxe room and lets Dad spend time at Pound Ridge Golf Club with one round of golf and complimentary golf shoe rental.
