New Orleans Hotel serves up $10,000 Super Bowl cocktail
New Orleans is getting fancy for the Super Bowl. Forget about the Pimm's Cups in plastic cups - one New Orleans hotel is offering a limited-time $10,000 cocktail to welcome the Super Bowl to The Crescent City.
The "Key to the City" cocktail is available at the Windsor Court Hotel until Feb. 12. According to a report from ABCNews.com:
[The cocktail] is made of D'Oliveiras Malvasia 1907 Madeira Cobbler and served in a silver julep cup, garnished with fresh fruit and souvenir gold key.
Those who splurge on the cocktail will be handed a future stay at the Windsor Court, including two nights in a penthouse suite with butler and concierge service, round-trip transportation to and from the airport, a bottle of champagne upon arrival, a tour of the city, an evening at Irvin Mayfield's Jazz Playhouse, two spa treatments and dinner at The Grill, the hotel's restaurant.
If you're not quite ready to spend the $10,000, you might opt for a $2,000 cocktail, made with Louis XIII Cognac and a souvenir gold key garnish. You won't get all the perks that come with the grander drink, but you will get one night's stay on the hotel's club level, round-trip transportation from the airport, a bottle of champagne, dinner for two and two spa treatments.
