What heat wave? Now is the time to plan for winter ski trips

TignesVal_dIsere_2.jpgBoston might be in the middle of a heat wave, but the Boston Ski & Sports Club is planning for colder months, and giving winter weather enthusiasts a jump-start on ski season. Whether you want to hang local or hit the slopes in Switzerland, there's a ski trip waiting for you. Here's a look at what's on the upcoming ski-trip schedule:

Tignes & Val d’Isere, France
January 24 – February 2, 2014
Whether you’re seeking long cruisers, steeps, chutes or bowls, or easy, relaxing and scenic trails, this trip has something for skiers of every level. Enjoy fine cuisine right on the mountain, fun Après ski and lively nightlife. Lodging is at the Hotel Diva with ski in/out convenience, across the street from lifts and train.
Trip includes: roundtrip air Boston/Geneva on Lufthansa, private bus transfers airport/hotel, 7 nights at the 3-star Hotel Diva, daily breakfast & dinner, 1 night at a hotel in Annecy with breakfast, a BSSC trip leader, departure taxes and fuel charges.

Taos, New Mexico
February 1 – 8, 2014
Enjoy spectacular views, wide-open slopes, trees, chutes and one of the best ski schools in the country. Stay at the Snakedance Condos, just 10 yards from the lift in the center of the village.
Trip includes: roundtrip air Boston/Albuquerque on American Airlines, private bus transfers airport/hotel, 7 nights at Snakedance Condos with full kitchens, 5-day lift pass and a BSSC trip leader.

Val di Fassa, Italy
February 7 – 14, 2014 (Optional Venice extension – February 15 – 18.)
IGrab a SuperDolomite ski pass and enjoy nine different areas, plus Cortina and Val Gardena. Stay in the quaint town of Vigo di Fassa at the 4-star Hotel Corona, within walking distance to lifts and convenient free buses. Plus, enjoy two private bus trips to two different ski areas of our choice. You can add on a Venice extension to this trip.

Sun Valley, Idaho
March 4 – March 11, 2014
Sun Valley was American’s first ski resort—the chairlift was invented here, Warren Miller started his career here, and golden Hollywood celebs still frequent its slopes. Stay at the world-famous Sun Valley lodge to experience the Wild West with a European accent. Enjoy the enormous outdoor hot tub, famous ice rink, glass-enclosed outdoor pool, elegant dining, Après ski lounge, bowling and more.
Trip includes: roundtrip air Boston/Boise, roundtrip private bus transfers airport/hotel, 7 nights at the Sun Valley Lodge, 5-day lift pass and BSSC trip leader.

Lake Tahoe, California
March 20-27, 2014 (Optional San Francisco Extension March 27-30)
This trip allows access to five different ski areas at Lake Tahoe. Start with four nights at Harvey’s Resort and Casino in Heavenly Valley to experience one of the most scenic ski areas in North America. Travelers have the option to ski Heavenly, Kirkwood or Northstar for three days. A private bus will take you to North Lake Tahoe for three nights at the Resort at Squaw Creek. Skiers have the option to also ski nearby Alpine Meadows on your two-day ticket. An optional weekend extension in San Francisco is available.
Trip includes: roundtrip air from Boston on United Airlines, roundtrip private bus transfers airport/hotel, four nights at Harvey’s Resort and Casino, 3 nights at the Resort at Squaw Creek, 3-day lift pass for Heavenly, Kirkwood, Northstar, 2-day lift pass for Squaw and Alpine Meadows and BSSC trip leader.
Price: $2099, non-members add $40. Add San Francisco extension for $475.

If you're interested, BSSC is extending a $100 discount on any trip to people who register prior to August 30th, 2013.
