What's behind your hotel room door?

What will you discover when you enter your hotel room? That's the question Renaissance Hotels is posing to guests in their latest campaign, "Discovery Doors."

The new interactive video experience and online game invites players to explore a real Renaissance hotel online, and unlock a surprise behind various guest room doors.

Players of Discovery Doors are prompted to find “keys” in the hotel's lobby lounge, which will unlock 12 different rooms. You might find yourself in the middle of the filming of a silent movie, or choosing sides in 80’s breakdance battle. Then there's the surprise serenade from CeeLo Green himself. Sprawled on a sofa with roses in hand waiting for you... it's a little bit bizarre, and a bit little awesome at the same time.

The goal: to open the door that has one of over 500 prizes behind them including:

  • The Global Discovery Pass: Winners and their guest will receive a one week long stay in three global destinations (Paris, France; Phuket, Thailand; and Sonoma, California) including airfare, upgraded VIP accommodations at Renaissance Hotels, an array of amenities and a local tour personally curated by the hotel’s Navigator.
  • The National Discovery Trip: Winners and their guest will receive one week in the U.S. city of their choice including airfare, upgraded VIP accommodations at Renaissance Hotels, a variety of special amenities and a local tour personally curated by the hotel’s Navigator.
  • Weekend Stays: Winners and their guest will receive two-night stay in the U.S. city of their choice, including an upgraded VIP accommodation at Renaissance Hotels.

Beyond those travel prizes, Discovery Doors participants will have the opportunity to win a variety of culinary, shopping and additional discovery prizes from a selection of well-known brands such as a six-month subscription to the Artisanal Coffee of the Month Club, a one-year subscription to Birchbox and assortment of fine Artisan cheeses.

The best way to collect more keys is via social media. Use the hashtag #RDiscovery and check in to Renaissance locations on Foursquare will help increase your odds of getting new keys to play with.
