February marks the 50th anniversary of The Beatles first performance in the U.S., and what better way to celebrate than with a hotel promotion straight from the hotel where The Beatles stayed

The Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC – where The Beatles stayed for the inaugural U.S. show on Feb. 11, 1964 – is giving Beatles fans the chance to relive their Beatlemania days (or just re-embrace the legal of Fab Four) with memorabilia, photography and a personal recollection of the legendary band. There will also be special tribute show, "Yesterday & Today," in partnership with the DC Preservation League.

The “Fab February 50th Anniversary Package” includes deluxe accommodations, a commemorative gift and a welcome amenity. There's also a hotel display of Mike Mitchell photography capturing the band’s Washington performance, a tribute documentary running on the hotel television’s channel, and signature cocktails in the Marquee Bar and Lounge.

What was it like to actually be in the hotel when The Beatles first arrived? Phil Hollywood, the hotel’s general manager 1964, shared a few vivid memories of their visit.

"These fellows were so nice,” Hollywood said. “When they left, they did so by bus - and by that time, everyone knew they were here. Kids were crowding every exit so I had two limousines positioned out back [to confuse the fans]. I brought the Beatles through the kitchen; they waved to everyone and got on their bus. They said it was the best departure they ever had. When the bus left and I dismissed the limos, kids were left crying…I felt so bad about that.”

The “Fab February 50th Anniversary Package” is available from Feb. 1-28, 2014 starting at $119 per night. For the ultimate treat, book yourself in the hotel's Presidential Suite. In 1964, that suite was also known as room 625, where The Beatles stayed.
