"The giants are back!" screamed an advertisement in a Cape Cod weekly. Sea creatures? A local sports team? No, the "giants" are the lobster rolls at the Raw Bar in Popponesset Marketplace in New Seabury. Called the best on the Cape by critics and foodies alike, these massive sandwiches contain nothing but lobster meat and mayonnaise. And forget those wimpy hot dog rolls. These monsters are served on split torpedo rolls, which still somehow fail to contain them. Raw Bar owner Bobby Weekes who introduced the giant rolls 24 years ago, won't say how much meat each contains, but we'd guess there's a good-size lobster in every sandwich. The marketplace also offers boutique shops, an art gallery, and a miniature golf course. Those rare New Englanders not partial to lobster can find Italian fare at Stelio's Pizza, gourmet sandwiches at the Coffee Table and Poppy's Deli, and frozen treats at Emack & Bolio's.
