Lighthouses of New England

Located off Petit Manan Point, Winter Harbor Light was built in 1856 and was deactivated in 1933. Winter Harbor was often known as a safe harbor for mariners seeking shelter from storms. The lighthouse was built on Mark Island to guide vessels into the harbor and to warn of some of the dangerous ledges nearby. *Not open to the public.
