Lighthouses of New England

Built in 1808, the Wood Island Light is said to be haunted. Legend says that the ghost of Frederick W. Milliken, who was killed here by the sheriff of Biddeford Pool, still haunts these grounds. In fact, one keeper so took to the hauntings that he committed suicide. The Friends of Wood Island Lighthouse offer tours during July and August.
