Since 1996, founder, director, and curator Nancy 3. Hoffman (the 3 is no typo) has operated this tiny, seasonal museum that pays homage to the lowly umbrella cover (the sheath that most folks discard). The 612 covers on exhibit come from more than 30 countries, and a guided tour includes the singing of ''Let a Smile Be Your Umbrella,'' accompanied by an accordion. 62-B Island Ave., 800-336-3725, umbrellacovermuseum.tripod.com. $2.
