You know you're at the Berry Manor Inn when . . . there are berry pies in the guest pantry and dancing hamsters in the dining room.
Rates: Mid-June to mid-October $145-$340; mid-October to mid-June $105-$220. Room 9 in the Carriage House was $235 in September.
Directions: Rockland is 185 miles or about a 3 1/2-hour drive from Boston. Follow Interstate 95 north into Maine to exit 44 (formerly exit 6A). Pick up Route 295 north for 30 miles to exit 28, Brunswick/Bath, Coastal Route 1 north (formerly exit 22). Follow Route 1 for 60 miles. Once you are in Rockland, turn left at the first traffic light onto Broadway. After the first light, Talbot Avenue will be the fourth street on the right. Turn onto Talbot, and the Berry Manor Inn is the second house on the left.
