Walk the beach and you’ll start seeing the fishing poles spaced along the water’s edge. For the sport fisherman, it’s striper season at last. Striped bass have been arriving through May, so by June they should be in full force. Commercial fishermen are netting cod, lobster, squid, scup, and sea bass. If you want to watch them at work, ringing in their boats and unloading their catch, head to the Ocean Street docks in Hyannis, or Stage Harbor in Chatham at high tide. That’s early high tide.
