HANOVER, N.H. - The Hopkins Center for the Arts at Dartmouth College has been welcoming families for almost two years through its Stages: Hop Family Series. Stages is intended to bring professional arts experiences to young people at affordable prices.
On Thursday as part of the series, TheatreworksUSA, America's largest theater company for family audiences, will bring the musical "Junie B. Jones," based on the adored children's books, to the center's Moore Theater.
Recommended for children ages 4-8, the fast-paced, entertaining musical is based on the series by Barbara Park. It follows the escapades of Junie B. from kindergarten through first grade as this determined little girl documents her days in her "Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal."
Performances in the Stages series are targeted at three age groups: Stage One for children as young as 4, Stage Two for 5 and older, and Stage Three from 8 to high-school age. Series subscriptions, which include concerts in a range of musical styles, dance, movies, and theater, come with special perks such as invitations to artist receptions, discussion guides, free parking, and discounted tickets.
