The M/V Sophie C. sails twice daily from Weirs Beach on mail runs to the islands of Lake Winnipesaukee. Mail service on Lake Winnipesaukee began in 1892, and the vessel, the only floating post office on an inland waterway in the United States, is the fifth boat to serve in the lake’s postal service.
