What we liked most: The ease of traveling with a baby, from the refrigerator in our room to room service to the toiletry-stocked bathroom.
What we liked least: The room air-conditioning wasn't enough to cool a hot summer night.
What surprised us: The quiet. Even though the inn has 92 rooms, we never heard any noise in the hallway.
You know you're at the Hanover Inn when . . . you see elderly men in Dartmouth jackets walking through the lobby.
Rates: Doubles $260-$310. All rooms have air-conditioning, wireless Internet access, and cable television.
Directions: Hanover is about 130 miles from Boston. Take Interstate 93 north to Interstate 89 to Interstate 91 north to exit 13. Turn right and cross the Connecticut River. Drive up the hill into Hanover, and the inn is on the right, after the traffic light.
