18 Great Holes

16. 18th hole at Wellesley Country Club Susan Bond, head professional at Weekpaug Golf Club in Westerly, R.I., says that her fondness for this par 5 in Massachusetts stems back to her sinking a 5-foot birdie putt to prevail in the 1993 Massachusetts Women's Open. The hole plays anywhere from 394 to 438 yards. Bond says the hole, like most par 5s, offers longer hitters the chance to reach in two, though most will try to reach in three. Her recommendation: For those playing it as a three-shotter, a safe drive would be followed by whatever club gets you to the base of the hill -- anything from a 3-wood to a mid-iron.
