Zakim Bridge

Ed Medina
The Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge spanning the Charles River connects Boston to Charlestown. It is the widest cable-stayed bridge in the world and has become a city architectural icon since its dedication in 2002. Photographed in September, 2009, the bridge was illuminated with teal-colored lights to raise awareness of ovarian cancer.
