Northern Greens

Where will you find the best skiing this weekend?

It is all going to be very good. Certain areas will pick up snows this week. That little will go a long way, putting them a notch above. The weather has been ideal. It has been that way for a while.

S.G. Tip: If not already keen to it, this is a good weather LINK to bookmark.

This weekend is going to be cold and that is good.

The snow will be extraordinary.

Check out the VT Conditions tomorrow morning.

The Northern Greens are getting punished.

Think Snow,

  1. OKEMO is in great shape. We skied it on Wednesday (frigid weather, light crowd) and again today (Friday - almost balmy, 28deg at the base, 21deg at the summit). The conditions are packed and machine-groomed powder and the skiing is fantastic. This was our first trip to Okemo so we are suitably wowed (we usually ski the K, Stowe, Wildcat, and Jiminy Peak).

We started Wed AM at Stratton ... blustery, completely windblown, machine groomed ice abounded. After an hour of that we headed to Okemo. We didn't give Stratton much of a chance, but I wasn't impressed with the snow, the highly unrealistic conditions report and webcast, and their rampant catering to the wealthy skier - what's up with the "express" lift lines, where everyone without a special pass has to wait whilst the high-brows cut the line?? Maybe I'm old school but that just doesn't seem right. And what's up with the oddball 12-person 1/4-seat gondolas?

Definitely recommend Okemo for this weekend!!!
