Ross Powers coming to Wachusett

Posted by Ethan Binns January 14, 2009 05:24 PM

The list of options for MLK weekend keeps growing. WaWa has lined up an international snowboarding icon for a visit this Saturday (01/17/09). Given that the ski area in Princeton, MA is only about an hour away from downtown Boston this is an easy win.

Ross will be the judge of honor for a Slopestyle Competition that is open to any competitors who care/dare to sign up. A slopestyle event incorporates runs down a closed course with Big Airs and Rails.

Here is the schedule for the action.

• 10-11 Registration
• 11-12 Practice and Warm Up
• 12-2 Competition
• 2-4 Awards, and a special opportunity to Ride with Ross Powers

This is an open competition and FREE with the purchase of a lift ticket and park pass. I think (could not figure out for sure) that pre-registration is required – to sign up – Email to amanda@wachusett.com and state you Name, Age & Hometown.

For more information, visit this website - Wachusett Mountain

Moreover, Fuel TV is a sponsor and will be on site. There are prizes and giveaways.

Not a competitor, that is okay. This is a very cool event to watch as a spectator. If you have a youngster that snowboards they will love it…be a hero parent and tell them to invite some friends.

Think Snow – Stay Warm,
