The Ski Magazine reader rankings were one thing, but the results of SnowEast Magazine's 2010 survey are downright puzzling.
Let's begin with the category of "Favorite Resorts over 1,100 feet." Mont Sutton, Bristol Mountain, and Windham make the list. Stowe, Smuggler's Notch, Sugarbush, and Jay Peak do not. OK.
But the real head-scratcher is when it comes to "Favorite Destination Village." Apparently, more people enjoy heading to Great Barrington than North Conway, N.H. Heck, more people would rather head to Ellicotville, N.Y. than they would North Conway, Killington, or Quebec City. Right.
