My wife assures me that we're winning the HGTV Dream Home this year, much as she does every year around this time when the lavish home is unveiled. But this time, here's hoping she's correct with her prediction, as the structure sits slopeside in Stowe, Vt.
The 3,400-square-foot home features a ski dorm, mud room, hot tub, garage, and everything else needed to turn a day on the slopes into a life of luxury. The winner of the home also receives a $500,000 prize which should help cover some of the taxes associated with the property. You can take a full tour of the home over on HGTV.com, where you can enter to win once per day through Feb. 18. The winner will be announced in March, which gives you a good month of skiing and riding, as long as the paperwork goes through. Otherwise, the 2011-12 ski season has already started off rather nicely.
Don't worry, we'll let you bunk out with us. We'll probably even let you make an offer after we realize how badly we can't afford to keep a place like that. Still, if there's one year worth listening to my wife's incessant reminder to enter the HGTV contest daily, this would be it.
