MBTA ski train back for another season of shuttling skiers and riders to Wachusett
Wachusett opened over the weekend, and is currently skiing and riding on three trails. The ski area's opening also marked the beginning of ski train service from North Station, where skiers and riders can hop aboard the commuter rail, en route to Fitchburg station, where a shuttle bus will be waiting to take them directly to Wachusett.
The MBTA and MBCR service runs only on weekends, and can be accessed along any intermediate stop along the Fitchburg line. The schedule is as follows.
Outbound from Boston to Fitchburg - 8:35 a.m. from North Station
Inbound from Fitchburg to Boston - 5:35 p.m. From Fitchburg
The modified coach car is equipped with special space-saving racks for ski and snowboard equipment. The cost is $7.75 one-way.
