Skiing on Earth Day

tote-skiers.jpgToday is Earth Day, a day to treasure our natural resources, and to think green. But there are a few ski resorts still thinking white, snow and skiing. Carving turns on Mother Nature's snow gifts is surely a good way to spend Earth Day and April Vacation week.

After an amazing Easter weekend of sun, fun and corn snow in New England's ski mountains, only four ski resorts are still spinning their lifts.

Sugarloaf has the most terrain open, 976 acres with three lifts operating -Double Runner East, Skyline, and the Superquad.

Jay Peak has 67 trails open for skiing and riding. Sugarbush has 23 trails open.

Killington has two lifts, K1 Gondola and the Superstar Quad with 17 miles of skiing.

Wildcat plans to re-open for the weekend on Saturday April 26.

You may recall Killington, Beast of the East, kept skiing through Memorial Day in May last year. Get out there and enjoy the ski slopes while they last! 7killington-superstarskier3.jpgPhotos of Sugarloaf and Killington by Greg Burke
