Skis and snowboards take on new shapes this season, as manufacturers have added features that make it easier to maintain traction and cut through powder and crud on the slopes and in the backcountry. Some of the latest skis have an additional reverse-camber bend (or slightly upward tilt) in their tips, while snowboards have a similar bend in their tips and tails or else serrated edges along the sides, all of which help the board stay in contact with the snow and blaze through it.
