Culture at "The Kate"

While she was alive, Katharine Hepburn was Old Saybrook's most revered resident. Now that she's gone, the town is paying her tribute with the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center (or simply "The Kate"). An old town hall is undergoing a $6 million renovation to create a 250-seat performance venue as well as a small museum dedicated to the film star. Curtains rise in mid- to late summer.
