Drink It In

Long Trail Brewery in Bridgewater Corners not only makes a mean blackberry wheat beer (and seven other craft brews), it also was a pioneer in the field of "eco-brewing." That means conserving water and heat in the brewing process, feeding spent mash to local cows, and completing the cycle by powering the brewery in part through (ahem) cow-produced natural gas. A visitors center includes exhibits explaining the practices. Oh, and there are beer samples, too. Long Trail Brewery, Routes 4 and 100A, Bridgewater Corners, 802-672-5011, longtrail.com.
