
5. The Hanging Gardens of Babylon
Most documentation of the hanging gardens came from those who never saw it. Even Babylonian records during the reign of the ruler who ordered its construction omit mention. Therefore, some speculate that the gardens are actually a myth. But the terraces are believed to have been an oasis in the desert -- lush vegetation and exotic animals in present-day Baghdad, Iraq.
