Six Flags Great Adventure, Jackson, NJ
This unique beast, which debuted in 2006, may look like a wooden coaster. But its unusual prefabricated track is made of laser-cut, bonded, and laminated wood sections that its builders snapped together like Lego pieces. The result: a raucous, yet super-smooth ride that is totally unlike a typical woodie. El Toro zips up its towering 176-foot tall hill (the world's third tallest wooden coaster hill) using an elevator cable instead of a traditional lift chain and delivers multiple moments of delirious, prolonged airtime. It'll have you screaming, "Olé!"
