Celebrations in Israel
Succoth is the Jewish Harvest Festival celebrated on the 15th day of the Hebrew month of Tishri. The holiday lasts seven days and honors the pilgrimage of the Hebrews who traveled to Canaan. People celebrate by building temporary huts, similar to those that the Hebrews lived in during their travels. Families then gather inside the huts to feast and thank God for their harvest.
