Celebrations in China
China's mid-autumn festival, the Moon Festival, falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, which parallels the autumnal equinox, when the moon is believed to be at its fullest and brightest. Farmers celebrate the end of summer harvest on this date, while families and couples gather to celebrate by eating moon cakes under the moonlight.
