How to take amazing mobile phone photos

  • First
  • Previous
I am standing at the edge of a cliff looking down at nearly a 100-foot waterfall at the Falls of Lana. I held onto a tree with my left arm and held the cellphone straight out. The lens on the BlackBerry has great depth of field, and everything in frame is in focus. The sun was out, but the waterfall was in enough shade so that the contrast did not blow out the highlights in the photo. I had another bad thought of dropping the phone into the water. I wish there was a way to attach a small strap to the unit. Again, framing is critical, so shoot the photo with the final print in mind. The more you crop a photo from the cellphone camera, the more quality suffers.
