Sierra de Aracena's bucolic landscape is known as the dehesa, meaning meadow or pasture, and from its fields of wildflowers, oaks, and livestock it's easy to see why. The dehesa continues west into Portugal where a similar landscape is known as the planicie. On a farm road between the two countries, a horse grazes in fading afternoon light.
