Inns and hotels across the country are getting ready for Halloween, with events throughout October and beyond.

  • Five inns in the Sunapee, N.H., region are offering Halloween events Oct. 24-26.

A Psychic Medium Spiritual Weekend will be held at the Inn at Pleasant Lake in New London with rooms starting at $155 and events from $35. Visit innatpleasantlake.com or call 800-626-4907.

At the Blue Acorn Inn in Sunapee, families can decorate a trick-or-treat bag, carve a pumpkin, bob for apples, and join a pumpkin lighting. Rooms start at $100, and the cost is $25 for all activities. Visit blueacorninn.com or call 603-863-1144.

The Candlelite Inn in Bradford will feature psychic Catherine Gibson for tarot card readings and ghoulishly good desserts and other treats throughout the weekend. Prices begin at $343. Visit candleliteinn.com or call 888-812-5571.

At the Rosewood Country Inn in Bradford, the accent will be on scary stories by a professional tale teller, along with a buffet. Room prices start at $129 a night, and the Chilling Tales for an Autumn Evening buffet and story session costs $39 a person. Visit rosewoodcountryinn.com or call 800-938-5273.

Things will be milder at the Inn at Danbury, which will celebrate autumn's bounty with a Local Harvest Breakfast & Craft event on Oct. 25. The breakfast will be freshly made from area products, and the handicraft session will draw its inspiration from the season. Rooms begin at $102 with snacks included, with the price for the breakfast/craft session to be announced. That Sunday, a five-course Oktoberfest Wine Dinner will be $69 a person. Visit innatdanbury.com or call 866-DANBURY.

  • The Luxe Hotel Rodeo Drive calls its package the One-Way Ticket to Hell, but some might consider it heavenly. The one-night package includes accommodation and transportation to the Halloween Carnaval costume party in West Hollywood on Oct. 31, where you can don a costume and party with 300,000 celebrants. Also included are a Halloween amenity, a glass of wine or cappuccino, and continental breakfast for two. Prices start at $329 per night on Oct. 31, with additional nights starting at $229. The offer is available Oct. 31-Nov. 2.

Visit luxehotelrodeodrive.com or call 310-273-0300 and mention code ONEWAY. For Carnaval information, go to visitwesthollywood.com/things-to-do/halloween.

  • Two nights in New York add up to a Wicked Weekend, according to NYCtrip.com. The package for Oct. 24-26, which begins at $880, includes a stay at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers, orchestra or front mezzanine seats to the musical "Wicked," admission to the cast party after the show, and other amenities. Visit nyctrip.com or call 877-692-8747.

When not included, hotel taxes, airport fees, and port charges can add significantly to the price of a trip. Most prices quoted are for double occupancy; solo travelers will usually pay more. Offers are subject to availability and there may be blackout dates. Richard P. Carpenter can be reached at carpenter@globe.com.
