"In 2007, 13 members of our extended family were in Alaska on a family vacation. We were blessed with crystal clear weather and three days of rare perfect views of Mount McKinley. After breakfast several guests took a van ride to Reflection Pond a few miles from the lodge. The view was spectacular, the pond reflecting like a giant mirror. And then, right on cue, two moose, a mother and calf, appeared in the endless brush. They seemed to be unconcerned with the camera clicking tourists and proceeded to wander [within] a hundred feet of us, cross the road, swim across the pond and pause for a brief 'photo op' on the far side of the pond. Suddenly the entire two-week vacation was worth every penny we had saved and spent for this incredible experience."
