Our Austrian ski tour started in the interconnected ski towns of St. Anton, Lech, Zurs, St. Christoph, and Stuben. Our Ski Arlberg pass accessed 84 lifts and 173 miles of trails, plus limitless off-piste skiing. St. Anton is the most famous ski hamlet, with its historic village and amazing skiing. From the delightful village with classic snow-capped chalets, we boarded the showcase Galzigbahn (a $24 million, 24 passenger Ferris wheel style gondola) to ski long groomed pistes, then ventured higher to open bowls and steep chutes with our guide. From the legendary Valuga Peak (distant peak at far left) at 9,222 feet, you descend a vast 4,644-foot vertical, skiing 6 miles to town.
