Spring Skiing: The Big 2
True: March is the best month the ski. The sun grows stronger daily, tiz the season’s snowiest month, then April arrives and the melt is on. Corn and Bumps are the Rule. Afternoons are what you came for. Stay up late reveling, sleep in for a while & then rip around in the soft snow. Repeat…
From Zero to Hero - Whistler/Blackcomb, BC

Strapping Buy: If you have the means #$^#$% GO WEST! Players are getting it once more - check Snow Country! Tahoe would be my pick, but UT, NM, CO & WY are all skiing FEET of fresh this Easter with more to come long range. Inexpensive airline fares: JetBlue & Southwest
Earthbound: Every resort is having season ending Blowout Events and they are offering up some DEALS that should be criminal. You want to know what and where? Check out the Message Boards (tons of mountain releases).
New England’s Biggest Spring Events
These have overlapped in the past, falling on the same weekend. ASC did not let the kids make the same mistake twice.
• Killington, VT ~ Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge
Extra: 1981 Retro Costume Contest (read DaGlo) Saturday April 2nd at Bear Base
The 25th Annual Mogul Challenge comes first (April 2-3) and it promises to be a grand celebration indeed. It is an Open Competition, anyway can enter and Try to compete with some of the best bump skiers on the planet, first come first serve. The lot scene will be in need of patrols with loud “Slow Down” whistles.
• Sugarloaf, ME ~ Reggae Fest
Must Have: The Cheeseburger Soup (Sunday’s only) at The Bag.
The Budweiser sponsored Reggae Fest (April 7-10) has the Wailers headlining this year plus another half dozen acts to precede and follow. Sugarloaf has huge snow and will get more before the steel drums show lot scene. 10,000 + fans of music and corn snow celebrating phenomenal spring skiing & a season.
Both offer distinctly different menus from the terrain, to events and entertainment. Get the crew together, neither will disappoint anyone.
South Lake Tahoe + Final Four = Bracketville USA
Heavenly's Best Face

Spring has arrived, take advantage of the time on your skis while you still can catch a lift ride. Tuck’s is still a ways away…
