Michael has a degree in ethnomusicology from UMass-Amherst. He has worked for Putumayo World Music. Fluent in Portuguese and Spanish, Kurtz's travel history includes Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Spain, France, Italy, and Ireland.

Brian has degrees in Spanish and Latin American Studies and has traveled extensively in Latin America studying the intersection of art, politics, history, and culture. He is fluent in Spanish.
