Discover the Bradenton Blues Fest
Music lovers of all ages can get the holiday blues this year at the Bradenton Blues Festival.
The inaugural festival takes over the newly redeveloped Riverwalk Saturday, December 1.
Johnette Isham, executive director of Realize Bradenton, the festival's organizer told the blues-focused magazine Blues Revue in May that the event "is going to be one heck of a hot inaugural festival.
Isham expects local and national blues fans will come out to spend the day by the Manatee River.
The lineup features eight blues artists from around the country, including the Grammy-nominated Ruthie Foster and Louisiana Hall of Fame inductee Kenny Neal. Dave "Biscuit" Miller, Johnny Sansone, Southern Hospitality, Homemade Jamz, Steve Arney Horn Band, and Ben Prestage round out the bill.
The festival also features art and local food and drink.
The blues fest--put on by Realize Bradenton--is the first large event to be held at Bradenton's Riverwalk, which formally re-opened in its new form October 18 after a $6.2 million renovation. Visitors who get to the festival early can explore all that the Riverwalk offers, including public art installations, a discovery tide pool, gardens, and more.
Remember to be prepared for any type of weather as the festival will go on in rain or shine.
Tickets for the Dec. 1 event are $25 in advance up to Friday, November 30 and $30 cash only at the gate the day of the festival. Visit www.bradentonbluesfestival.org or call 941-681-0708 to book your tickets today.
