A Boston University group gave student clothing designers an unusual task for a fashion show this week. Each design team had to create clothing using wrapped and unwrapped condoms.
Thursday’s event, called Condom Couture, was hosted by BU’s chapter of FACE AIDS, a national organization trying to help prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS. BU’s chapter is one of more than 200 high school and college chapters around the country.
“We wanted to bring something novel to the university [with Condom Couture],” said Jeremy Meltzer, Boston University student and one of the founders of the BU FACE AIDS chapter. The event’s goal was to raise awareness on sexual health issues, he added.
