According to the article, tuition and fees at the ten most expensive private schools averaged slightly more than $53,000 this past academic year. But this figure is only about $5,400 higher than the national average for private medical schools.

Tuition and fees at the 10 most expensive private medical schools averaged slightly more than $53,000 for the 2012-2013 school year.

The article also said that “prospective students seem to be willing to overlook cost in order to attend a top ranked medical school, though.” BU and Tufts are among the ten medical schools that draw the most applicants.
