An Emerson College student has been selected out of 1,000 student contenders to hand out the Oscars on stage to celebrity presenters this Sunday, the college announced in a statement.

“I’m really shocked and really happy,” Hearin Ko, a Visual and Media Arts major, said in the statement. “I never thought I’d be standing here.”

Ko is one of six students who will be on stage during the Oscars, the statement said. These college film students were chosen after submitting a “video essay contest,” in which they were asked to show how they would contribute to the future of film.
