Around town
We don't know about you, but August had us nodding off into our mojitos. Relaxation's one thing. Slack-jaw boredom is something else. Clearly, party-planning types felt the same, because September has gotten off to a brisk start, with one stylish shindig after another.

The opening of the chic new Natick Collection accounted for several fetes last week, as boldface names sipped champagne, eyed the merch, and checked for goat cheese on their Hermes ties. We don't know who was busier: the air-kissing PR mavens or the sweaty valets running to fetch yet another Porsche Cayenne.

The retooled Boston Fashion Week also has fashionistas in a dither, with panels, parties, and after-parties to attend. (It wraps up tomorrow.) Style Spy got a dose of runway revelry at the Michael De Paulo Couture show at the Taj Boston.

But perhaps our favorite scene was the Cut & Paste Digital Design event at the Roxy, where some of the area's best graphic designers competed for top honors.
